On a hike at Shevlin Park last yr., I seem to remember a very large Ponderosa with a sign on it naming it "The Big One" and information that it was 15 ft. in circumference. On recent hike there I could not find it. Is it still standing there?

Hi Maureen, the tree is still there but the sign is no longer there. It was originally placed at the tree by a park user. It’s 200-300 yards upstream from Aspen Meadow, although it's not the largest tree in the park. We hope you get to see it on your next visit. Thanks!

I'm not sure about that being at shevlin park, I don't recall that ever, unless I'm that oblivious lol, but at the la pine state park they have one like that and it's labeled the same. Hope this helps.
