That depends on whether you are collecting SSI or SSDI with SSI you cannot work at all with SSDI you are allowed a certain amount of money that you are allowed to make so it doesn't necessarily go by hours if you go over that amount they will make you pay them back by taking it out of your check my mother just went through that very same thing
