Can you get to either north or southbound track platforms without having to go through that elevated, open walkway? I have real bad height fright. Hoping you can get to north bound tracks through first floor and southbound via a tunnel?

Yes. On the other end of the platform there is a tunnel that goes under the track.

Yes drive around to the back of the station, it looks like your going under the 57 fwy, but turn left into the stations long term parking lot.
