It’s not as if they are all over the place.Stay on the trail; it sure is safer.I’ve seen one but we heard it’s rattle first.Wear hiking boots it’s recommended.
Rattlesnakes usually come out of gidding in the early morning to warm their bodies. take a hiking stick with you and wear hiking boots. They don't usually attack unless they fell threatened. Happy trails
Last time I was there I did not encounter any.
No they stay of the trails. If you happen to run into one just give the there space they will move one .or if you're to close to one and you hear their Rattle stop .they are telling your getting to close I'm here . Then proceed with caution.youll be fine.stay safe enjoy Nature.
Dont use both of your headphones while there ;)
Possibly. When the temps reach 90 they seem to start coming out. I have never heard anyone I met thats been bit or seen on that did not hear a rattle first
Well take it from someone that was bitten by a Mojave Green rattlesnake in the Azusa canyon on the bike trail. They are on the bike trail be very aware. I almost died. No joke. They wanted to amputate my leg, but I didn't let them. You should wear boots and baggy jeans because then if they bite they're less likely to make contact with your skin but their fangs can go through leather like it's nothing. They are unusually active this year and there a lot of them. I am guessing because their natural habitat is being invaded by humans. As for how to see them in time...just be aware or your surroundings. If you have to step somewhere you can not see throw a rock or make some noise. They do not want a confrontation any more than you do.
Thank you everyone!
