In reality, you are not paying for the dog himself you are only paying for the adoption process which includes: sterilization, microchipping, vaccination, licensing, and a voucher to see a veterinarian within 3 days after coming out of the shelter. But if the exam reveals that he is sick with the flu for example, you have to pay for his treatment separately. I am not sure how much you would have to pay for the adoptions here but I think is around $122.00 just like you would here at LA animal services.
