Is there a gate for the campground that opens and closes at certain times, or can you drive in whenever you happen to get there and set up camp? Do you have to check in with someone when you arrive?

You can come and go as needed. I notified the park that we would be arriving after regular hours. Our yurt key was left in an area set up by the host's trailer

You can drive in, but plz remember to get your campsite registered as soon as you select your spot, and then let yje camping begin!

You can come and go as you like. You have to register with the rangers upon arrival and they will issue you your parking permit. That will need to be visible from your vehicle.

Can't miss the pay station or hosts as you go in!

I usually have a reservation, it's just easier, but there is no gate. If there is not a reservation tag at a site, park there and then immediately go register.
