This is a page to find out about things like handicap parking, wheelchair accessibility, hours of operation, etc. This page is not monitored or operated by First Presbyterian Church. This page, & all other question pages on Google Maps, are answered solely by other users, usually "local guides" like myself. If you are interested in this church's ideology & doctrine, I suggest you visit their website, or give them a call. I can tell you that this church is an affiliate of the Presbyterian USA denomination (versus Presbyterian World), & last I heard, which was 4 or 5 years ago, was that this denomination is a lot more liberal & left leaning than say, Southern Baptists or Methodists. I know they approve of & use women ministers, which both the OT & NT forbid, and I've heard that overall, the Presbyterian USA organization is at least LGBTQ friendly. But things change, so like I said, I would suggest you reach out to them directly. Most church websites have a way you can email them.

While its true that Presbyterians are taught to be welcoming to people who are guests amongst us, Presbyterians welcome challenging ideas refine the faiths we hold as individuals. Presbyterians are governed by its members and are a republic which is shaped by elders who are elected. There are women who served as leaders in both the Old Testament and New Testament perhaps most notibly Mary running to follow Jesus’ desciples and Peter to himself after his ressurection. In recognition of ths we have welcomed women as early as the 1970s. We pride ourselves in having prople of diffrrent social economic backgrounds. We are different at the local level than the general assembly higher up. Over the last few years Presbyterians have had debates of whether the church building is owned by local presbyterians or the Presbyterian USA. Because of a per member membership fee assessed by the PCUSA we have greatly raised the qualifications required for membership. I encourage you to come and see
