I swim at Bonita and dont remember ever seeing fire pits.

Yes they do have fire pits. And yes the police do patrol that part of the park because the pits are on the sand and some times you will run into homelessness people.

Not at this location, but there are fire pits nearby at mission beach.

I have not seen fire pits. I am sure if you started a bonfire an officer would come asking about what was going on.
