I was told the same thing. I went down to planet fitness yesterday to cancel my membership and I told the guy I talked to that the annual membership fee was set to be taken out of my account November 1st wI'll that still happen? He told me yes it would when I asked why he told me because the membership had to be cancelled by the 25th to avoid the charge. I said well its the 29th and I had no idea that I had to cancel by the 25th to avoid the charge. He said there was nothing he could do. I contacted customer service and asked the same thing they told me unfortunately it is already in the process of being taken out of the account and they can't stop it. Horrible place horrible customer service I will never go back!!

I Hate this place. I’m sick again from the filthy conditions and continue to get no response to phone or email messages. This is the last straw. Time to file complaints with the FTC, FCC etc , the Health Dept and contact an attorney. At the least a CLASS ACTION lawsuit. So many people have the same cancellation complaint, so may add FRAUD, Extortion, and whatever else covers theft of funds etc.
Oh my this is why i didnt join the insisted that i give my checking account tracking number..what who does that...crooks

Change tour bank account number. Your bank card can still be used.I would protest their business and encourage all your friends and neighbors to cancel unser these circumstances.
my card was used by my ex so he could go to the gym with me, I have never stopped foot inside since the purchase of the plan and I wasnt even aware they were taking money from me until I started getting over drafted in my bank account and since I have called numerous times requesting them to cancel and they tell.me I have to.come in or send a dr note? I have heart failure I cannot work out in regular gyms I have to be monitored while working out, I cannot get ahold of anyone above my town pf to resolve the issues, I am disabled and a single mother and have paid monetly fees for over a year since 4/2019 and have never been once to the gym there. My next step may be to get a lawyer and find a way to get my money back . I've spent so much time in the hospital that there's no way I could benefit from this service yet they take my money continuously, even though it wasn't supposed to be automatically renewed? I was told the same thing that I wouldnt get a refund. I went to cancel my membership because I cant afford it right now and they said the charge for next year is already taken out and I'd have to write corportate....however all your comments seem like it would be a waste of time. Did anybody get their money back from them?
