That is kinda the point, they shouldn’t have such bad reviews for a place trying to help people who want to kill them selves.

Do not expect any level of privacy at this place all questions asked in front of other patients and you sleep in a room full of people on recliners so if you have anxiety expect to endure the entirety of it without assistance of any kind and expect sleep deprivation. For a place for preventing the harm of human life it baffles me that no one is aware that sleep deprivation is dangerous for those with epilepsy. Also they never even got my entire medical history from me and once I was in the room no cared about anything else. To be brutally honest this is no better than waiting in an er for hours for someone to acknowledge you exist.

They have been working very hard to be the best they can possibly be. They work hard to make sure the state of living there is safe for that patient and honestly, only people who have a bad stay really have reviewed so they only get negative attention j

OHA came and evaluated Unity for about 4 months. The changes made included removing the doors from the calming rooms in the PES (to reduce suicide risk), assigning two nurses to administer all medications (one to give and one to watch), installing different hardware in the hold rooms so that it can only be accessed by removal of a plate with a drill, and probably other things I'm unaware of. They closed Unit 1 East during the inspection so they could double up on nurses everywhere else. Nurses not adhering to proper medication protocol were fired. The rest have been allowed to go back to one-nurse-administers-meds protocol and 1 East re-opened. Visitors are now possible for people in the PES for more than 24 hours. They must be accompanied by two staff and a security guard for the duration of a visit; if there aren't enough staff on a given day due to illness or number of patients, visits aren't possible.
