Depends where you go. Some areas are quite loud due to the water installments. There are other quieter places but other people might interrupt your train of thought. It is a very scenic place, however, and with some noise cancelling headphones, you could make it work.
Yes...the calm pool is amazing...not to many people there...they go mostly to the large section...
