There are all kinds of displays inside that show the history of why it's there. Pretty fascinating.

Tillamook Air Museum is the only museum on the Oregon Coast on aviation history in the area, more specifically surrounding U.S.N efforts off the coast in WW II. Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum in McMinnville OR, is another great museum not to far from Tillamook with many displays surrounding Civil and military aviation and space history.
