This is a wonderful place to see beautiful views and relax. There is plenty of sun and shade.

We love stopping here and seeing the view as well as the lighthouse. Today it was so foggy you couldn't see the water or very far in front of yourself. That was disappointing because we had our daughter in law with us and she has never been to Oregon. We were trying to show her our favorite spots. It was quite windy as well sneak we were hoping the wind would carry out the fog, but that didn't happen.

This stop great and has many viewing opportunities. Leads to the lighthouse and the octopus tree. State park restrooms and parking. Benches and picnic area. Information plaques focus on the birds wildlife around the cliffs. Such a fun family and couples stop!!

Beautiful. Just an incredible place to visit. The views are 2nd to none! It's out of the way as they say but well worth the effort. You won't be disappointed!

The loop is closed north of the lighthouse, but you can still drive the loop from Tillamook through Oceanside to the lighthouse. Just take it slow through the curves and you will be fine. It is an exceptional area of the Oregon coast, very scenic and well worth the effort it takes to get there.

Why are the west shores so rocky and rough, compared to east coast with sand , are they just more rocks there?

The rocks are reminants of volcanic eruptions exposed by erosion. Oregon and Washington have many volcanoes the same as you will find on the Pacific Rim.
