Due to all of the snow, FedEx is backed up. It is taking time to catch up with all the backlog.
Short answer is, your package is being scanned by a package handler which is then updated in the system, but we (as drivers) can't physically take all of those deliveries they've scanned because of limitations of the size of our trucks and sheer amount of deliveries that came in during the recent snow storms. FedEx got backed up. We're days behind. People didn't stop ordering during the snow storms and we literally can not take out all the deliveries. Unfortunately once these packages are left behind, FedEx just keep putting them into piles and wait for the next day. Then we (the drivers) fill our trucks with everything we can take and it all repeats over and over and over again each day. Some packages are left behind over multiple days basically by chance. There are options. You can call 1-800-gofedex and have your package either held for you to pick up at FedEx, or redirected to a pick-up location closer to you. Or you can wait for us to get caught up. It's frustrating for everyone.
