Any time of year is a good time. Go to the HSTB website the night before you intend to visit the shelter. The website is completely up to date after 9 pm. If you see a fur baby you just have to have, arrive at the shelter before they open and wait. If you are first in line, you'll have the first chance to adopt the pet.
