I found a 1" baby turtle in my front yard, never seen any other turtles in our yard in the 36 years I've lived in this house. W are about 300 ft from the nearest retention pond. My question is: what should I do to assure this turtles survival?

I had a small turtle that I raised until he was big enough to release. Feed him turtle pellets of you want to watch him grow up enough to be released.
