One other thing, Brooke--we realize that insurance plans are complicated. If you want to call our insurance/billing staff with your insurance information, I am sure they will contact them for you to help you determine your out of pocket costs, if any! Sheri, Administrator
Hello, Brooke! That will entirely depend on your insurance and whether it requires a copay, or a co-insurance percentage, and/or a deductible from you. It also may depend on whether you are doing a Wellness Vision Exam (checking visual acuity, screening for problems, updating your vision prescription) or a Comprehensive Medical Eye Exam (which we do for patients with cataracts, glaucoma or high pressure, diabetes, and other conditions). I recommend looking up your insurance coverage for both vision and medical visits to see what they require for out-of-pocket. (Of course, any insurance company will tell you an explanation of benefits does not guarantee coverage.) You can call us to find out IF we are contracted with your insurance, but we couldn't instantly tell you your coverage--there are simply too many plans to memorize, and they are constantly changing. I am sorry I couldn't give you a concrete answer, but you can always call us to get help figuring out your next step!
