Yes, you can swim! There are also nice bathrooms and playground near the bridge.
Yes, there are a few places from which to swim. I don't believe any of them are designated just for swimming. Just find a good spot to from which to jump or wade in.
Currently they have some high levels of algae that are unsafe, so swimming is not recommended (and dogs shouldn't be drinking from the lake as well)
I have heard that it isn't wise to swim in that water.
Yes, you can swim in the lake near the bridge (but not directly in front of the boat launch). There are no lifeguards at the lake.
