I'm having engineered oak installed. I'm being told that I need transitions in all door ways. I thought transitions were only needed were different materials came together i.e. tile in bathroom meets wood. Any guidance would be appreciated.

It depends on how it goes through the doorway. I undercut the doorjamb and leave enough room for expansion.

I had vinyl plank flooring put in and had to have transitions and all the doorways and other spots because of the way the planks meet up the pressure that holding it
