Generaly Parks have band metal detectors. Because of the damage people do to the Park, on the beach in the sand may be aloud but not where you would or could dig up plants. Check with Rangers.

Washington allows you to dredge gold out of the sand on the beach I don't see why you wouldn't be able to metal detect.
