Because they are paid poorly, managed even worse, not given the tools they need to do their job, and policies are unevenly enforced. When an employee does jump in to help, they are disciplined. When someone goes above and beyond, they are rewarded with harder work to frustrate them back down to the others' level. There is no positive communication from any form of management, and everyone is disciplined for mistakes that anyone had made, so there's no point in doing a good job because your co-workers mistake will get YOU yelled at. Often in Front of other employees. Morale is non-existent because of this. Workers need to get individual attention to strengthen weaknesses and hone strengths, not universally yelled at. Management need a an overhaul at this store. Want to hear a good joke? Talk to manager Jake. You'll be crying for weeks. The hard workers are yelled at but the dude in sporting goods can play on his phone all day no prob!! It's Wal-Mart, what did you expect?
Yes, Mr. Harrison is right. You can't expect more if you want cheaper things. Better if you buy your things online, you will skip all those problems.
