The embassy is accepting applications for the Ukrainian Territorial Defense Force Foreign Legion.. requirements are ages18 to 62, prior military experience with proof, photo ID., in person interview..
The website to instruct volunteers how to apply is currently down. What are alternative methods of contact. Is there an ideal time to come in person or another avenue? Former Navy Electrician, trained phlebotomist, and massage therapist.
Did you end up figuring out who to talk to?
Try calling or going down there in person. Youll have better luck with an answer. Thank you for your service.
When are they open did you guys hear back at all?
I'm willing to go, and just was brought up with guns. I can hit dead center with a 44/357 better than most, including those in the military. If the embassy wants to put me on a range, I will not disappoint and spend myself fighting for Ukraine.
They are requiring military service as proof of ability. In some cases they may accept police service and proof you have been in shoot outs with combatants in a defended location. For me, I have been in life or death situations (in my current job and prior) and score fairly high in accuracy competitions (a few perfect scores in shot put and moderately high scores for stationery targets and speed competitions). Probably shot 50k rounds before I was 18 (grew up in rural NC). Only one of my life or death situations was with an active shooter. I was the one that stopped him, and put my fear aside. I know me. But they don't, and that is OK. It's understandable that they don't want me. While I would like to help, if I were them I would not accept me either. Don't waste their time as they have a lot more people and more important things to deal with right now. They want people with verified experience in a war zone or are special forces within LE (riot, etc). They'd probably allow any Marine.
What hours are they open
