All of the ice cream they had was made form regular milk so bit out of luck for that. Various flavors of Ice teas would be the only thing your grandchild could have. There are over the counter lactose pills one can take before consuming regular dairy products for lactose intolerance. (Not a medical advice)
Advance accommodation can be requested for lactose free alternative. There was sherbet offered for the free tasting. The lab where you create an ice cream is a separate activity and you could ask for the sherbet. The toppings are the child's choice so that can allow partipation. I would consider the age of your grandchild for this activity. I discovered this wasn't a enjoyable experience for my 10 yrs, 15 yrs, and 16 yrs old. Waste of money and time plus the line for all the ice cream tasting, the ice teas, and activities while there were not organized well. The "small" group for the lab actually were not "small" because you actually had a full house of about 30 people plus in the lab.
There is much more to the experience than eating ice cream. Lots of things to do and participate in.
Go to a pretzel or potato chip factory instead
Contact Turkey Hill early before arrival and signing up and paying for ice cream making labs. They will be able to accommodate you. They do have plenty other activities for the Grands than just Ice cream eating. The children can still enjoy the day with minimal worries or discomforts. Enjoy the day!!!!
Sorry to say not much. They do have an Iced Tea station but that would be about it.
I think if you ask them if they have any kind of lactose free milk for the ice cream they might be able to help you with your grandchild.
