There is a big wild rabbit population by Costco Lynnwood and West of there, big black, grey and white mix rabbits, not the small wild browns. Is this a result of pets let loose and can they be trapped, spayed, neutered and and adopted or released?

Suzanne – Thank you for your concern about the possible abandonment of domestic rabbits. Since the store is located in the city limits of Lynnwood, we encourage you to reach out to Lynnwood Animal Control 425.670.5660 to see if they can provide assistance with humanely trapping the rabbits. You would also need to connect with the store manager to be granted access to their private property. Stray rabbits found in the city limits of Lynnwood can then be taken to the Everett Animal Shelter for care, assessment, spay/neuter and placement if they are deemed adoptable. Domesticated rabbits, even ones spayed/neutered, should not be released back into the wild. Again thank you for caring about the rabbits and taking steps to help they need.
