Seattle is on land stolen from the Duwamish. They generously share their culture at the Longhouse.
Chief Seattle for whom our beloved city was named was part Duamish and part Suquamish. The tribal centers of both tribes are wonderful places to visit, with good gift stores.
The Duwamish are the people indigenous to Seattle and King County.
