Let me start with that I am not a transplant patient, but the same location handles liver deceases in general. I might update my review but so far my experience was a very solid 4, tentatively putting 5* cause I cannot really highlight anything wrong aside of sometimes weird phone communication processes. When I had a very separate issue with incorrect scheduling these guys were able to find a fairly quick spot to see me for a very concerning case. Since then being an existing patient if there are no suitable appointment slots but my doctors says that he needs to see me, then he is seeing me. I don't know how they shift priorities or try to compress the visits between patients but I do appreciate the ability to the see the doctor when we need to meet. Dr. Pankaj Rajvanshi nicely balances the communication using MyChart to send updates regarding my tests, doctor's messages and requests to meet in person. I do not know how will my case go, but I definitely feel more protected since I started being a patient here.

Empathy, urgency and compassion are severely lacked by the transplant team here at Swedish. My loved one became a patient here in the winter of 2019 and from the start there was never clear communication on needs, expectations, or treatment plan. We attended 3 appointments and left each one more and more confused on what needed to be done on my loved ones end of things. In August of 2019 we left voicemails 3 times to update medical insurance information and ask for clean cut expectations because we were incredibly confused on what they were trying to accomplish because it was never communicated. Our phone calls were never returned so we chose to go to a different transplant center in November of 2019. In July of this year (2020) nearly a year later we finally heard from Swedish because they noticed my loved one had been evaluated at a different center and called to ask about it. The case manager seems to be out of touch with the fact that the work (or lack there of) they do heavily affects people’s lives. In the 11 months they spent not returning our call they had not done a single thing on their end regarding my loved ones case. No testing of the multiple live donors who signed up, no presentation to the board to have him approved to be listed for a transplant, ect. The worst part to me was that they hadn’t even made an attempt to get the notes from my loved ones MHP the entire year, even though seeing an MHP was required by them for my loved one to get listed for a kidney. They made zero attempts to move forward or make progress on his case, they let it sit with no movement for a year. They neglected a patient case and to me that is atrocious behavior from medical professionals. They tell you that getting a kidney is a horribly long wait, in reality the longest wait you’ll experience with Swedish is waiting for the case manager from this team to return your call. Swedish should be incredibly ashamed of how this program is being run. Do not waste your time here. Go to Virginia Mason.

Terrible communication. Lack of follow through with patient and coordinator. NO COMMUNICATION WITH OUR NEPHROLOGIST despite numerous attempts at getting information back. Lack of transparency about timelines and policies. Miserable mental health support/connections. No effort to begin screening up potential donors, despite having FIVE FAMILY MEMBERS offer. Go to Virgina Mason, save yourself the MONTHS OF WASTED TIME. Even if you have a donor in mind, Swedish drags every single process out. We've been trying for over a year, and they haven't even attempted to contact the potential family donors we have lined up. Everything goes to review and then you never hear anything, or they tell you they need additional paperwork. Garbage organization. My brother is dying and the people at Swedish is just twiddling their thumbs.

Highly recommended. Great care and great outcome for my husband. He had a cancerous tumor ablation in 2015 and received a successful transplant in March 2016. Dr. Hart, the other surgeons and members of the team were professional, skilled and human. My husband has remained under his local doctor's care and the excellent care at the Transplant Center ever since. We felt fully informed about the risks on multiple occasions. We were supported before, during and, to this day, by an excellent and responsive team. Frankly, neither of us have had a better hospital experience than at Swedish and Organ and Liver Transplant Center.

There are many many lodging options within a few minutes of 1124 Columbia (First Hill Medical Pavilion). The closest places are the Sorrento Hotel, Silver Cloud Hotel (on Broadway), Baroness Hotel, First Hill Apartments and the Inn at Virginia Mason.
