Hi Riah! Thank you for your question! Our husbandry staff and volunteers arrive hours before the Aquarium opens for daily cleaning and maintenance. The larger habitats often require scuba gear or waders. Sometimes you can see the divers and other staff at work. Give them a wave or a thumbs up next time you see them! The Aquarium is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, which requires the highest standard for providing clean, healthy environments for all of our animals.
Haha Yes, their perfection in cleaning made me think I too could get an in home aquarium. I later realized how much work it really is. Kudos to them for the upkeep and amazing experience for kids of all ages 👍👍
