No you don't. You pay around 150 for a cabin thst sleeps 5 without a membership. Well worth it for the most beautiful view in the Northwest. Near the little town of La Conner too. And the Ferry to Friday Harbor that takes you through the San Juan Islands. Memberships are not worth it to come and stay once a year like I do. You would have to come every weekend to make the membership worthwhile. Or live there like some members do in their R.V.'S.

Instead of paying a bunch of money for staying as a non-member go to the building off to the right before the ranger station (it says member upgrades) and you can tell them you are interested in getting a membership but you want to get a sample of Thousand Trails and they will more than likely give you a few nights free. As a member it's free per night, you just pay either monthly or annually, as a non-member on the other hand, you are looking at about $50-$70 a night. Yeah, KOA style prices. Been a member of TT for 2 years and it has saved my life.
