Well it was an old military battery, who knows what could have happened there, I have never witnessed anything.

I've been there well over a dozen times and never felt anything spooky. Including an early morning walk up to Artillery Hill alone
The battlements where the old guns used to be in the concrete structures is reportedly haunted by a couple of different soldiers one guy killed himself in World War 1 the other guy supposedly killed himself and World War 2
