They do a thorough background check and i think felonies will make it very difficult if not impossible to get hired. I know even having lots of debt will make it very difficult, as it poses a possible security risk
The answer is a big NO! It isn't because of the felony conviction. It's because in the recent past a congressman was visiting a military base on the east coast and somehow learned the there were a number of people with past felony convictions working at the base, and working in sensitive areas. This appalled the congressman so much because he "knew ???" that convicted felons were untrustworthy and shouldn't be allowed to work at a federal facility. Because the congressman knew he was right, he pushed a bill through congress that NO person with a felony conviction can get a Security Clearance. And if you can't get a security clearance you can NOT work at a federal facility. Fair ??? NO !!! But this congressman "knows" what is best for all of us ???
