I work with Parks and Rec. at Denny Park. No, the biggest tables are meant to sit up to 4, ideally 3. You can grab chairs from other tables, but the table will be crowded. And yeah, the rodent problem is bad, no denying that. We're doing everything we can, they just keep making more and more babies. Edit: We've looked into Xtian Gunther's idea about feeding them with some kind of birth control or contraceptive. It's a good idea, unfortunately there is no such food item that only affects rats, meaning the squirrels and birds would be affected as well. This is in direct conflict with our main goal; to provide a pleasant place for patrons to enjoy the outdoors while minimizing our impact on wildlife and the environment.
Elevated Picnic? Sure. Otherwise, where water is nearby, rodents are sure to be as well. I always wonder, can't Parks Departments feed these little guys with some form of birth control?
Denny Park just has the average picnic tables. They can seat 6, if you don't mind getting close.
Don't think so, I would not have a picnic there. Severr Rodent problem
