It was heavily damaged in last hurricane and remains closed. They are working on it now and latest estimate is reopening in September 2019. As I recall, prices were about $20/night with hookups (water & elec) Not sure about fires but they do permit fires on the beach.

You can camp along most spots on the beach. Its marked where you can't camp. I think you just have to pay for a parking permit. I have had camp fires while camping on the beach and it's never been an issue
