No, the historic site is restored under the Federal, 1966 National Historic Preservation Act to the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Historic Preservation. Unfortunately, the inclusion of an elevator would remove key distinctive features of the property that we are required to preserve. Staff try to develop programs and exhibits however for all types of visitors. We have a view from the top experience in our Maritime Center for the differently abled, as well as a host of access ramps, and special exhibits that visitors see and touch in addition to the climb. Our daily demos are accessible to all. Check out our web site for more information at www.staugustinelighthouse.org. And thank you so much for your interest in our non-profit museum.
