Is the lake fishable

You can fish, you just have to release.

Fishing is only allowed in the lake from the outside of the zoo. If you look on google maps you will see Zoo lake 1 and to the north is Zoo Lake 2. Zoo lake 2 actually has 2 different parts, the smaller portion is stocked by Abilene Parks and Rec on a regular basis. If you drive by you can check the sign for the types and when they stock fish.
