During covid, yes. A reservation is required for all Texas State parks
At this time of year you will not get in with out a day reservation for the day. They are not required. But you will not drive all the way there only to be told you can't enter. The drive there is nice though.
Required no, but if you want to be sure to get in you should. They sell out virtually everday as they are limiting the number of visitors due to COVID.
Day pass reservations are not required but are strongly recommended, especially during peak seasons.
