Rice trick works. I did it years ago with my iPhone 3GS after jumping into a pool with it.

Mmm... what i-phone do you have??, sometimes it is easier to manually dry the logic board.... if it not under Apple warranty take it to a repair professional to fix it, Apple will not fix it for you

Put it in rice for now, and then go directly to apple care or a third party repair store of your choosing. The phone may "work" for a while, but the insides could be corroded resulting in a shorter life span.

You can try putting it in rice or letting it sit out and dry, but if it hasn't turned back on since New Year's I would recommend bringing it in, seeing what you could do. Older phones, like Nokia bricks, are easier to dry out because you could take them apart, take the battery and SIM card(s) out, etc., but you can't do that with newer phones, they're soldered together. Sorry.
