Are you able to book an RV site but tent camp instead?

I saw many campers do this. The RV sites generally offer electrical outlets for RV plug in, where as general tent camping sites do not.

we went with RV and we saw neighbors with SUVs and tents.. I think you can book and doesn't matter how you stay there. not sure what camp site associates are told to answer.😊 we were at seawall though.
