Yes, there are areas outside to picnic with your own food if you can do that in San Antonio heat. You ARE allowed to bring water into the cave with you but no food or any kind, including gum or hard candy. They walled of the entrance and exit with a sealed door opening so the humidity is 99 to 100 percent and NO JOKE. I saw some cool stuff in there but wouldn't go back. Too commercial and nickel and dimed to death.
