Yes, there are quite a few spots on the rivers edge with flat land anyone flat rocks to put you safely near the water. Although there's a ton of snow there usually in the winter months so be cautious of slippery walking and/or driving conditions! Well worth the trip there, even for just the beautiful scenery!
