I don't understand what's so great about these plantations?...My family History search has opened up a very painful and unfair chapter when it comes to Louisiana slavery...I think all proceeds should go the descendants of those families.

Learn from history so you do not repeat it.

If you don't know what has happened in the past, how do you learn? How do any of us know about a lot of things? We must know about the bad along with the good so we know the difference. All things work this way, science, parenting, botany, arciology, etc. Plantations allow people to see for themselves the history of slavery. And, helps people understand all slavery where ever it is and in all its forms, is to be eliminated ie human trafficking in our current day. God Himsrlf teaches us the importance of knowing history so it does not repeat itself.

It sure is a lot of upkeep $$$ to make any plantation lovely. It’s a visual history lesson open to the public. Yea!
