OK then what kind of hauntings then or am I not understanding
No. It was a neat visit just to quench your curiosity and the staff do a nice job but sadly nothing paranormal is going on. Worth a tour but overpriced to stay the night. On the plus side if you like historic places Rosedown Plantation is just down the road and definitely worth a visit. No ghosts but way more to see than Myrtles. And The Francis Southern Table and Bar is close by and a great place to eat. I recommend the Francis fancy fries.
no
To be 100% honest, I really doubt it. Did some research after our visit and found that nearly every aspect of the story we were told of the historical basis of The Myrtles haunting was fabricated. Is there a feeling of otherness about the place? Yes, but I hand that to the owners who are more than willing to sell the mysterious aspects of the place to make a buck. It's certainly worth your visit though. Go make up your own mind. Take a look at Ghostland by Colin Dickey before you do though
Yes it is, but not the scary, going to make you jump out of your shoes "haunted". This I know because I've lived in South Louisiana all my life and have seen my fill. I also worked as a tour guide for another Plantation along the River Road that has "spirits" as well.
