You can tour the grounds for free, but pay to enter the house. My daughter and I packed a picnic lunch and did a self guided tour of the grounds and had lunch at the gazebo on the pond. It was very nice. We took the guided tour of the home after lunch.
They give tours every 45 minutes however the tors do cost. You can just show up and pay to take the tour if you want to walk the grounds it doesn't cost a dime but there's really not much to see there now that all the bed and breakfast have been opened on the site. The only other option is the gift shop which is very nice
You can just show up
