We recently went to the Myrtles for the 12th time. We go several times a year sometimes with a group of friends, sometimes just as a couple. Each and every time we fall more and more in love with the place. The staff is so welcoming and friendly. The breakfast is delicious and they offer a pretty good selection of food along with hot fresh coffee. We are already planning another trip with friends later in the year when the weather cools down. I highly recommend visiting and staying the night. If you are on the fence about staying over night just go visit the property. It’s free to walk around. You will not want to leave. We have had several paranormal experiences while there so if you are into that type of thing it’s truly awesome to be able to roam the property as long as you want. However you are only allowed in the house for guided tours or if you rent a room. If that’s not your thing they have super cozy cabins on the property you can rent with up to four people. All rooms/ cabins are all comfortable, clean and accommodating. Its truly a unique unforgettable experience!

Loved it! Our tour guide was Gretchen and she was awesome!! Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic!! We did a 7pm tour. It was an hour tour, but didnt seem like it because Gretchen kept us interested and learning with her great story telling! We will definitely be going again for a private tour and overnight stay!

After seeing this place on tv since the late 90s, it was surreal being here. We didn't get to eat at the restaurant (it was closed, we were here on Tuesday) and I also didn't get a ghost night tour. (They are only Wed-Sat) Our tour guide Connie, was fabulous! The tour is only the first floor of the house. That was a little surprising. (Rooms for staying overnight are upstairs, plus there are cabins, caretaker cottage, and outer building to rent) The grounds are beautiful and very spooky with all the huge trees and Spanish moss. Worth the tour.

The LA Salle room we stayed in had a beautiful view of the courtyard. The grounds are well kept and the staff goes above and beyond to accommodate anything to make your stay more pleasant. The nightly ghost tour is well worth the money. The breakfast in the mornings is very good. This is a must stay if you are ever in Louisiana and want to feel like you traveled back in time

Yes it is very interesting and nice just to walk the grounds
Yes they do
It's haunted for real...i want too go there
Yes
Their hours are on their website. I think it would be totally worth it to do the bed and breakfast if you can afford it.
Tours are 7 days a week. They have day tours, night tours, private tours and self guided. Check the Myrtles Plantation website for the details. Eell worth the trip. It was relaxing yet exciting! We took the day tour.
I suggest the person who says it's just a commercial hotel, spends the night! Very strange goings on!!
You may be able to wear 18th century clothing like the docents and get asked questions about the plantation. The recorded images of ghosts were sort of vague. I did not see any, but some one I was with retook a picture seconds after a poor picture and the second picture has two faces in it that were not there in the first. Creapy.
Fannie Williams room, hands down! ie. "The doll room" Those creepy things MOVE!! Good luck staying the night, no refunds for sleeping in your car. 😳
I would say definitely don't let COVID stand in your way! They have all the precautions in place. My wife and I went the week after Christmas and it was absolutely amazing.
I don't really think so. You would need to ask them while making reservations.
You can definitely feel the spirits there... I'm very sensitive to stuff like that and a couple of the rooms that I toured outside of the main house gave me major chills one if the dwellings my I kept turning around thinking my friend was in there with me and I was alone.. it was a trip.. it is supposedly the most haunted in Louisiana.
Yes and the rooms are very traditional. Makes you feel like you are back in the 1800s!
Different rates depending on room location, bathroom access and time of year. Website carries fill details as well as pictures.
Best to search the plantation an there sight should show click on it an all your info is there
Was $15 each. SO worth it. I think our tour guides name was Sarah ( red haired lady ). She was so awesome at telling the stories.
It depends if staying in cabins or main house. Cabin cost $375.00
This place definitely is haunted. I stayed in the General Bradford Suite downstairs and was creeped out by the feeling of being watched the whole night, me and my wife heard the sound of coat hangers going on and off of the closet rod in the closet at 0300. When we woke up there weren't any coat hangers in there. Also, we felt a child or something light walk on the bed at the foot of the bed at 0345. We got the feeling that the ghosts were friendly and its safe to stay there. Just dont know how friendly the ghost of the young black maid is that was in the day room attached to the generals suite. Its like I felt her presence beside me almost taking interest in me, i guess because i look like the picture of the general over the fire place.
Yes but they like to hide your bracelet it mysteriously came off while I toured the house but they don't really talk to me I see them in my pics and in eye vision and they just let u know they there if u feel bad feeling then walk away but I only had a scary feeling once but other than that I feel sad for them and I pray but they harmless and the kids like to touch u but it's not bad I love it there it's funny because I'm on my way there now lol the ghost must know. But I promise you will want to go back it's not that kind of bad unless you are a person to get scared.
The rooms are about 160.00 a night. They are usually accommodate 2 people only. But they do have the cottages available their about 200.00 - 300.00 a night but accommodate more people than the rooms. And breakfast is included in your stay. The host are very friendly and helpful.
There is activity all over the grounds. I walked the grounds between 2-4am, Chloe showed herself in the courtyard. The main house is where most of the activity was when I was there. When I go back, I plan to stay in the house instead of the cabins.
I'm not sure but I think that there is something about that on their website
The Myrtles Plantation is reported to be haunted with the spirits of multiple people who have died here. Both children and adults have died here. There are many stories as to the cause of these deaths. Some grounded in fact, others have possibly been embellished over time. There are also reports of multiple slaves that have died digging the wells on the property. Some of the more popular stories of the hauntings surround William Winters' shooting and death on the stairs, the death of two children being poisoned from oleander by a slave girl, and the death of little Kate from yellow fever. If you visit and take the tour, all these stories will be told as well as a detail of the strange goings on here. There is also a mirror here that is reportedly haunted as well.
Hello no the property value alone costs 3 times that amount
We weren't told that story.
Or you can submerge yourself into the REAL history and age of this authentic place by spending time there often.
Yes
You will have more fun on the grounds ghost hunting 😱👻 download the evp app it's alot of fun and spooky.
Il dont know
OK then what kind of hauntings then or am I not understanding
We stayed at the Fannie Williams room and she was very spacious and comfortable. A little scary with the dolls. The visit of the house was great.
The best I can tell you is look up Restaurant 1796. They have lunch and dinner hours and you can see the menu. I also recommend reservations for dinner. Enjoy. www. Restaurant 1796.com
Sure. It's a beautiful place. Lots of history!
Last time I looked it started at $175 plus tax... Really Beautiful haunted rooms though
You can tour the grounds for free, but pay to enter the house. My daughter and I packed a picnic lunch and did a self guided tour of the grounds and had lunch at the gazebo on the pond. It was very nice. We took the guided tour of the home after lunch.
It's a beautiful, historic place with a ghost story or two in its past. It's not a Halloween haunted house.
They range from about 160 to 400. They have a website that has all of that information...
I wish I knew. I went on a night tour so we didnt look outside much.
Yes, and it does not always take 6 months in advance to have a night available. Your best chance of getting in the main house is on a week night. There is one room that has far more access to the house than the rest at night. We have stayed in every room but one in the main house. We have also stayed in a cabin and The Caretakers Cottage. You will have a great time regardless of where you stay on the grounds.
The main building is the most haunted If you can get one of the rooms in the main building for a chance to see somthing
Call them it will be worth it
I found the listing lol I got a new question tho I have a group of three, can we still rent a room?
It is still haunted.
Varies, there are rooms & cottages. As all lodging time of year & day of the week matters as well. Best is to go to their site. You often have to wait for availability in the main house.
It really depends on the room, day of week, and time of year Call them and they will answer your questions much better
I've been several times and have always been amazed by how authentic it is. Have been "visited" 2/3 times. You can feel the difference from a "normal" b&b. It's also very relaxing.
No, they plan to rebuild though. There is a kitchen where breakfast is prepared and served to overnight visitors.
You would have to either go on their web site or call them.
Your not allowed to walk the home alone. You stick to the tour guide. The upstairs is off limits unless you book the room. Pics are only allowed in the foyer
No, you can take a tour which are offered on every 1/2 hour until 4:30. There was also a restaurant that is currently being rebuilt which was open to the public.
Chloe the a young slave girl died but she killed Mrs.Woodruff and their daughters for cutting her ear off for snooping
