The Myrtles Plantation is reported to be haunted with the spirits of multiple people who have died here. Both children and adults have died here. There are many stories as to the cause of these deaths. Some grounded in fact, others have possibly been embellished over time. There are also reports of multiple slaves that have died digging the wells on the property. Some of the more popular stories of the hauntings surround William Winters' shooting and death on the stairs, the death of two children being poisoned from oleander by a slave girl, and the death of little Kate from yellow fever. If you visit and take the tour, all these stories will be told as well as a detail of the strange goings on here. There is also a mirror here that is reportedly haunted as well.
