Yes you do need a license we were there this past june and had to buy a 11 day fishing.license but it really didnt cost much

Pretty sure you need a license. You can get on at the gas station/convenience store in town. There is plenty of space to fish off of the dock. The area is known for bullheads. We were there during spring and didn't have much luck fishing but you might!
