Some pits are more productive than others. Yes, you can kayak there. As with most places, the areas that are harder to get to are usually the better ones because the fishing pressure is less. There are some large fish of different species in different areas.
Yes i caught a 4 pounder there last fall just know there is more than one pond besides the one with the dock
No the fishing was terrible. The pond is over taken by weeds and the dock has holes. Better off at Kellogg lake.
