There is a primitive boat launch without a dock. Launch/retrieve when tides are at least 4-5 feet but be wary tides move fast in this shallow bay. Ive seen crabbing being done on a row boat, kayak, canoe, paddle board and even just wading. But bulk of crabs being harvested are from smaller boats. There is a nicer launch with dock in the Blaine Marina for larger boats that can make the longer run down to Birch Bay. Good luck!
The boat launch has no dock. You can use hip waders and follow the tide out with a garden rake(3prong) and a bag for crab. That's how we did it for years before we got a small boat and traps. It can be done but you won't get as many as you will with trap and bait.
You can also crab from the pier at the end of the blaine marina. Blaine has a visitor dock if you want to leave your boat in the water during your stay.
