First half of the hike is a mellow stroll gaining elevation slowly along the creek. When you hit the cedar Grove's and head up the hill elevation gain increases dramatically. Enjoy the 2nd or 3rd Switchback one of the best views on the hike. After you enjoy cooling off the waterfall your 3/4 the way to the top of the loop if you want to Mellow stroll back down the equestrian Trail it's a little bit longer and a little bit warmer.
About 4-5 miles
About a 3 hour round trip for someone who's in average shape
Approximately 2.9 miles from the campground trailhead to the lower waterfall*. There is a good map at the trailhead. The first two miles following Liberty Creek to the Cedar Grove increases from near level to ~7% grade. The next quarter mile is a steep climb through a dozen switchbacks to a vista of Liberty Lake (~25% grade). The final 0.7 miles is much less steep (~13% grade). An additional 0.4 miles up the shady ravine rewards the hiker with another, larger falls*. *Both "waterfalls" are more accurately described as cascades - a small creek tumbling over exposed rock. Not true waterfalls but pretty and worth the hike!
