Hey so I'm coming up to golden Pines this Saturday. I wanted to do some hiking and possibly some fishing. Is there any lakes or rivers near this campground. And are there hiking trails nearby too?

Small river not too far away. And also Alpine Lake is close by. Along with Utica reservoir and union reservoir

There is a trail at Golden Pines that leads to a waterfall Ask sbout it at the office. You can go to the ranger station and they can show you many hiking trails.

Yes. Calaveras Big Trees has some hiking trails and there are some up around Alpine Lake. You can fish at Spicer and Alpine. Stanisalus River is also close by.
