Website is not informative. Is the Elgin DMV open for walk-ins or by appointment only? I tried to make an appointment online but it does not give me Elgin as an option. I do not want to drive out of my way when there is a DMV in my town.

No, you have to go there and make an appointment. It is usually an hour and a half later depending on when you get there.

I was very lucky. Went to replace my stolen drivers license and the whole in and out was about 14 minutes
